I was intrigued by the Sound & Vision review of the BP7001SC last summer. I wanted to enter the realm of multi-channel listening, but I wanted to maintain the clarity and detail of two channel. I was replacing the vaunted Spica Angelus with an M&K sub. I had already purchased the BPVX/Ps from Listening Post and was immensely pleased with their performance, so much so, I wanted to add the BP7001SC to further augment the system. I anxiously awaited the arrival of the new SuperTowers to our area, so I could audition them. I took a few CDs and DVDs to Stereo Land in Natrona Heights, Pennsylvania where George was gracious enough to allow an in-depth audition. After a few minutes it was apparent the BP7001SCs were something truly magical! I was amazed at the inner detail of music and the enormous soundstage I heard. I had listened to the BP2000s and the BP3000s, thinking these speakers were the last word in power and grace, but the BP7001SCs set a new standard for detail and midrange/bass integration. I purchased them after the audition. When listening to jazz, the BP7001SCs present the instruments' true timbre and location on the stage. It is amazing how much bass was missing from my previous system, even with an excellent sub, maybe it is the superb integration of the midrange and bass that has given music I am quite familiar with, a cleaner, richer sound. The BP7001SCs when used in a Home Theater application are truly amazing!! They play loud, clear, and with unmatched visceral impact!! The Definitive Technology BP7001SCs are the standard by which all Home Theaters should be measured. My System consists of the Sunfire Theater GrandII/Cinema Grand combination, the BP7001SC Main speakers, the C/L/R 3000 Center Channel, and the BPVX/P rears.

Let me take a few minutes to write of my "journey to the top of Def Tech Mountain!" It all started about 2 years ago when a friend of mine from another state made me such a deal/offer on a complete Def Tech system, that I had no choice but to buy it, just to see what it sounded like, then I figured I could sell it and get all my money back. You see, I had a complete Klipsch system that I loved. But at the price he gave me, I drove from Ohio to New Jersey to make the deal. Here is what the system consisted of: BP30 fronts, CLR 2500 center, BPX rears, and BP2006TLs that I would use in my drum room, as my Rotel gear didn't do rear center. I hauled it all home (at 90 mph), hooked it up, and right away, within 3 minutes of the first DVD, I knew that I would never have another center channel without a built in powered woofer! The step up in the center channel was jaw-dropping unbelievable! This is the SINGLE best step for anyone to take that has to upgrade slowly.

With the BP30s up front, the sound stage became huge, as in, close your eyes and it's a wall of sound, not 2 speakers playing that you can point at blindfolded. The BPX rears did the same thing back there as the BP30s did up front. The BP2006TLs went to the drum room, and because I loved the sound with the built in amp, I took a step up the Def Tech Mountain and went and bought another used pair to replace the BPXs in the theater room set up. Oh man, putting rear speaks back there with powered woofs opened up yet another world of sound from the rear. I now had to have 7.1, so I bought the Sunfire Ultimate Receiver and moved the other pair of BP2006TLs into the theater room. Well , my dealer took in a pair of used BP2000TLs and made me an offer I had to take. I sold the BP30s for MORE than I paid and took yet another step up the mountain. Going from BP30s to BP2000TLs is like going from a Cavalier to a Camaro. Bigger sound stage and PHENOMENAL BASS. Well, I might as well buy a NEW CLR3000 and sell the used 2500, so I did. Not much difference, just a little. Here we go again though', when I placed my order for the new BP7001SCs. Sold the used BP2000TL's on ebay, AGAIN, for more than I paid and picked up the 7001s. That was night and day difference from the BP2000TLs. They are changed in many ways, just go read about it.

I thought I was now at the top of Def Tech Mountain, but wait…..if the 7001s sounded that much better than the 2000's, why not replace all my BP2006TLs with brand new BP7004s???? I took the step and placed the order ! I sold all my BP2006TL's on ebay and waited for the new BP7004s. Picked them up and I am at the TOP O' THE DEF TECH MOUNTAIN, right? NO !

To be at the top, I had to sell the new 7001's and get the BP7000SCs, just to put my mind at ease that I had the best Def Tech speaks available up front. So I did it. Sold mine and placed the order. Picked them up, hooked them up and sat back and smiled. I could probably sell the 7004 rears and rear centers and upgrade them, but why? I am as close to the top as I need to be. The sound nearly makes a grown man weep with joy. Close your eyes and listen to every instrument playing, watch the DVD of your choice and FEEL the guns, cannon firing, etc. Having a powered sub in every channel is what THX does and recommends.

So, if you haven't heard this system at your dealers, stop by my place for an in home demo. Everyone has their own tastes in sound and what sounds best to them. I have owned 5 systems since 1995 and this one BLOWS ALL OTHERS AWAY! For me, I AM at the top of Def Tech Mountain ! And it sounds almost heavenly!

I finally got my new center and surround speakers (the CLR 2002 and BP2Xs) and I absolutely love them. I heard things last night while watching Open Range that I wasn't able to hear with the old Bose system, especially in the surrounds. These three speakers sounded awesome in the store, but when I got them home and added them to my BP6s and two ProSub 80s, my wife had to pick my jaw up off of the floor. I couldn't believe it! All the loudspeakers in my system have the same size drivers and the Denon AVR-1804 just makes 'em purr. I never thought I would have a home theater that sounds this good, not at the price. Friends and family have heard it over the last couple of weeks and think I've spent a fortune. Awesome sound, well-built, very attractive cabinets, and an excellent price. What more could you want? I'm very proud to have a complete Definitive Technology speaker system. I wouldn't have any other brand.

Spring is almost here and I need to get my Definitive outdoor speakers for my deck next. Thank you and keep up the good work. I'll upgrade again in a couple of years when I move. Hmmmmm, BP7001SCs?...............

I work in a stereo store that carries Definitive Technology and other great speakers. I am finally ready to buy a home theater system. I have heard of many brands and Definitive is the best choice for all of my customers and for me. My future system will consist of two BP30s, two BPXs, a Powerfield 15TL+, a C/L/R 3000, and a BPVX/P being a future upgrade for 7.1. The Definitive sound is very natural compared to other brands. You don't have to worry about over exaggerated bass/midrange and you will never have to listen to that annoying horn tweeter (no brand name mentioned) screaming at you for the whole movie. Overall, dollar for dollar, Definitive is the best possible choice that allows you to sit back and enjoy.

Only one year after purchasing a ProTower 400 system and being envied by everyone who came over to watch movies, I've built a new home (aka Definitive shrine). Three pairs of UIW 55s for my main floor rooms (office and bedrooms), BP2006TLs up front in the theater room with C2 center, a pair of UIW BPZ/A side surrounds mounted in the ceiling, and a pair of BP1.2X for back surround duty. Simply delicious!

Thanks to Chet in customer service for pinpointing the mounting location of the BPZ/As. They are sweet! As soon as my wife heard the BP2006s she asked me to sell her Acoustic Energys so she could have a pair too! Gotta luv it.

I have the BP2002s, backed by the BP2Xs mounted on the rear wall. I will soon add the C/L/R 2500 center. I can honestly say I am hard pressed to find better quality sounding speakers. These speakers have actually allowed me to hear things (in music especially) that I could not pick up with other speakers. They are absolutely crisp, sharp, and strong! Fasten down furniture and small pets! These speakers are knock-down drag-out champs! Don't pay for the phony junk out there. I have NEVER heard a bad word about these speakers from anyone! All the pros I've talked to, hands down admitted that there really might not be anything out there that could beat them. These are lifetime keepers ... but I will need a little something for the bedroom ... hmmmmmm?

I recently bought a new Definitive Technology system consisting of BP30s for fronts, C/L/R 2500, BP2006TL as sides, and two BPXs for rear center. I upgraded from an older Atlantic Technology System 350. What a difference. The Definitives were so much clearer and fuller sounding. Being able to run all the speakers as large on my receiver really opened up the sound stage. DVD audio sounds great. Anyways, great product and keep up the good work!

I bought my first pair of BP2000s back in 1997 and have since added three more BP2000s (two for left and right surround and one for back surround) and a C/L/R 3000 for the center. I also own four Powerfield 1500s to handle LFE duty. They are being powered by a Denon AVR 3802 receiver/Sony progressive output DVD/Pioneer Laser Disc/JVC Super VHS and I control my four Powerfield 1500s with a Parasound stereo preamp. All cable and wire is Monster Cable.

I can't tell you how happy I am with this setup and how much pleasure my Definitives bring me on a daily basis. I keep the main pair of BP2000s toed in and get a beautiful sound stage and solid imaging; dialog is plastered to the screen even when I choose to keep my center speaker off.

The back pair of BP2000s are to the left and right rear of the listening position (also toed in), and the last BP2000 is directly behind the listening position. The four Powerfield 1500s are in the front right of the room and stacked two on top of two facing the left wall. I will soon be adding four Powerfield 1500TL+s to the left side of the room to smooth out and complete the LFE channel. Also down the road I shall be adding a pair of Definitive Technology BPVX/Ps to the side walls since my Denon receiver can switch between back and side surround's depending on what your watching.

I love my Definitives. I recommend them to all my friends and whoever asks me about stereo or home theater speakers. Definitive Technology offers the best sound/performance for the dollar. The only thing I need now is for Definitive to start making speakers and subwoofers for the car. I put a PF15TL+ in my truck once just to try it out in my garage and it was incredible as I new it would be!

My system consists of BP2006TLs, a C/L/R 2002, and BP2Xs. I auditioned several systems and had narrowed my choices down to Definitive and one other. When you take all the specs into consideration, everything being equal — your audible perception is the final deciding factor. This system is amazing, the 8" subs pack plenty of punch for home theater, and the mids and tweets are fluid. After the recommended break-in period, the whole loudspeaker seemed to work more in union and produced a smoother and more diffuse soundstage that was very addicting. The only thing that would make this system better would be a little lower bass. That's why I am trading my beloved BP2006TLs for the BP2004TLs in the near future. Sometimes you CAN have your cake and eat it too! Thanks Definitive for producing a great product and easing my mind on the whole dipole vs. bipole speaker debate for surrounds. The system really works well together.

I have zero tonal adjustments in my setup — they are not required with these speakers. The internal crossovers are wonderfully balancing all formats I play through.

I had my speakers delivered 400km and, with Definitive's excellent authorized dealers, I am secure that if anything should happen to them I would receive customer service of the same high quality that is standard for Definitive speakers. I've had a home theater system with bipolar surrounds and a 14" Dual Drive subwoofer for about 14 months. From the moment I listened to a set of C/L/R 2000, bipolar surrounds and 18" sub, my satisfaction for my choice and investment was ruined. So, I bought a pair of Definitive ProTower 400s, a ProCenter C2 and a pair of bipolar surrounds. I've saved four years for these speakers, and I have to say I listened to all kinds of home theater speakers from electrostatics to magneplanars and NOTHING approaches the holographic sound of Definitive's. Dialogue, bass, surround effects — it doesn't matter — everything comes alive just a bit more with Definitive Technology than with any other speaker; some costing a lot more. I didn't want to like these. I thought they were over-hyped. Happily, I was wrong. They are magnificent and I have no buyer's remorse.

May I also say that the C/L/R 2500 is the single best center speaker available today. The built-in sub makes such a difference, and every bit of dialogue from whispers to shouts sound natural, deep-voiced men are notably well reproduced. This powerful speaker, when matched with the Bipolar Towers, is simply sublime.

The BPXs are similarly wonderful. Definitive recommended I run these as large and WOW! Bass in the surround channel is eye-opening.

If the BP2002TLs seem expensive, keep in mind you're getting double the drivers and a built-in powered subwoofer for what is a very fair price. The build quality is outstanding. While they are slim and elegant they are also deceptively well-built. Materials are first-class and Definitive Technology technical support is outstanding. My emails were answered within hours (sometimes minutes) of writing.

Thank you for a wonderful speaker that lets my DVD collection come alive in my home theater like no other speaker I have ever auditioned, and I auditioned over 50!

For many years I have been using a high-end speaker system. I've found that they are very good speakers and sensitive for my taste (I listen to jazz and classical). I wanted to add a subwoofer for bass to my home cinema so I decided to buy a PF15TL+. It's fantastic! It's deep, pure and clear. Then I decided to change my surround speakers. I'd like to thank you for making such a wonderful and affordable product. I have BP2002TLs, C/L/R 2000, and 2 BPX surrounds. What a blast! I can't help but smile when I fire up a great CD or DVD. I have natural sounding music throughout the audible range and absolutely magnificent imaging.

If you pass along such advice to customers or dealers I suggest running CAT 5e 10/100 Ethernet cable for the speaker wire. My 2 friends and I noticed an incredible improvement in the sound over the much more expensive Kimber cable I used to run. It's pure, designed to carry a more sensitive digital signal, and very inexpensive. Use one run (all 4 twisted pairs) for + and one more for -. Cap it off with some crimp-on banana plugs and you're good to go! I really noticed a difference in the output of the speakers in the high end. I'd never have believed it if I hadn't heard it myself. Anyhow, keep up the good work.

I have owned Definitive Technology speakers ever since they came out. My original configuration consisted of the BP20s L/R main, C/L/R1000 center, BP2s for the rear, and a Powerfield15 subwoofer. Recently I have upgraded my system with a Parasound Amp (2205), Parasound AVC- 2500, and my rears to the BP10s. I have always been in awe and sheer amazement of the sonic capabilities of the Definitive speakers, especially at the very low end. Since my recent upgrade of the BP10s, I am utterly floored by the sonic overall improvement. It was very good before, now it is just downright phenomenal. Through the years I have always received first rate customer service. Put that together with exceptional product/value, and I'm one HAPPY CAMPER. My hat's off to the people at Definitive. You're the best in the business!!! I would also like to note that the combination of the Parasound components with your products is an unbeatable combination at any PRICE!!!! Keep it up.

After completion of my home theater room in my basement and outfitting it with names like Toshiba, Denon and Onkyo, the final touch would be the "perfect speakers." After many days surfing the net for reviews, I decided that Definitive's were the ones for me. My problem was that the closest dealer was over 4 hours away. So I did what any audio nut would do: I ordered speakers that I've never heard of from a store I've never been to from a guy I've never met! Result? Astonishment!! I've owned some good speakers before, but my ProTower 400s, ProCenter C2 and BP1Xs left my jaw on the floor! The soundstage is amazing and the bass slams you right in the chest. My only complaint is that I can't seem to get rid of this grin on my face. I'll never buy anything else.

I ordered a set of BP8s without ever listening to them after reading fantastic review upon review in every magazine I picked up. I have never been so thrilled with a set of speakers. I have since added BP2Xs and a PF15TL. I am now in the process of updating my center with a C/L/R 2500. Some of my friends and relatives have also purchased Definitive Technology systems of their own after hearing mine. Even if you live 300 miles from your nearest dealer, you should make the trip and at least hear the best speaker systems ever made. One of my uncles drove over 500 miles to get his!

I have a pair of the BP10Bs for front channels, the C1000B for center channel, and a pair of the BP2Xs for surrounds. I also have 2 PF15TL+ subs, that's right 2 of them! Words cannot describe the performance of such a high-octane system, never mind that at these prices I feel like I stole them. There is no doubt that Definitive loudspeakers are the best price/performance speakers available. Putting Definitive speakers head to head with other manufacturer's speakers just simply isn't fair, Definitive will win EVERY TIME! Anyone who doesn't at least audition Definitive speakers is doing themselves a serious injustice! Way to go Definitive.

I have the BP2000s, the C/L/R 2000, the BPXs and the PF1500. Each time I audition my system for any visitor to my home, they rave about the fantastic sound of the Definitive Speakers. My best friend bought Infinity's best set-up at the same time and for about the same price. The first time he came over and I cranked up the Definitives, he got suspiciously ill and had to leave suddenly. It wasn't until several days later that he admitted he was extremely jealous of how fantastic my new system sounded. We have the same receiver driving our respective systems (the Denon AVR 5700). After visiting him to compare, I had to admit I understood his reason for being upset — the Definitive's were clearly superior in every way! Thanks for making such a great product. I have to admit I enjoyed having your flagship system. Now that the BP3000s are here, is there anyway I can trade up? I'm desperate to once again own the latest and greatest that you offer. I have had many different speaker systems in the 30 plus years I have been a hi-fi enthusiast. I have enjoyed none more than my DTs. I purchased a set of the BP2000s, a C/L/R 2000, and a pair of BPXs. I have them hooked to a Yamaha DSP A3090 Dolby Digital Amp. This amp has split line level outputs to hook up two subwoofers. When I play a DVD on my Pioneer DVL-90 player, I get the BEST BASS I have ever had at home. The full-range sound is as close to being at a state of the art theater as you can get at home. They are also super for playing all types of music too. The only speakers I will ever have from now on will be Definitive Technology.

I knew NOTHING about the Definitive product when I went to the last dealer on my research list. I was gravitating towards Bose 901s. I had heard about Klipsch and listened to a myriad of others including B&W. I introduced myself to a sales rep (whom I had never met). The initial purchase was the BP2004 towers. One week later I bought the BPX rears. Today (12/01/99) the C/L/R 3000. Personally, I have never been so taken with any audio equipment. Recently, I purchased a pair of BP30s for my front speakers, a C/L/R 2002 for my center channel speaker, a pair of BPXs for my rear surrounds, and a PF18 subwoofer. This is by far the most awesome sounding system I have ever heard. It actually shakes my den floor!

I listen to a lot of pipe organ CDs and I can tell you that the sound is life like. Sitting on my den sofa I can feel the sofa shake on the low sounds of the pipe organ. I also watch movies on my home theater components. Movies just come alive! Definitive, I can honestly say, makes the best speakers I ever heard.
