fronts, C/L/R 2500, BP2006TL as
sides, and two BPXs for
rear center. I upgraded from an older Atlantic Technology
System 350. What a difference. The Definitives were so

I bought my first pair of BP2000s back
in 1997 and have since added three more BP2000s (two
for left and right surround and one for back surround) and a C/L/R
3000 for the center. I also own four Powerfield
1500s to handle LFE duty. They are being powered by a Denon AVR 3802
receiver/Sony progressive output DVD/Pioneer Laser Disc/JVC Super VHS
and I control my four Powerfield 1500s with a Parasound stereo preamp.
All cable and wire is Monster Cable.
I can't
tell you how happy I am with this setup and how much
pleasure my Definitives bring me on a daily basis.
I keep the main pair of BP2000s toed in and get a beautiful
sound stage and solid imaging; dialog is plastered
to the screen even when I choose to keep my center
speaker off.
The back
pair of BP2000s are to the left and right rear of the
listening position (also toed in), and the last BP2000
is directly behind the listening position. The four
Powerfield 1500s are in the front right of the room
and stacked two on top of two facing the left wall.
I will soon be adding four Powerfield 1500TL+s to
the left side of the room to smooth out and complete
the LFE channel. Also down the road I shall be adding
a pair of Definitive Technology BPVX/Ps to
the side walls since my Denon receiver can switch between
back and side surround's depending on what your watching.
I love my Definitives. I recommend
them to all my friends and whoever asks me about stereo
or home theater speakers. Definitive Technology offers
the best sound/performance for the dollar. The only thing
I need now is for Definitive to start making speakers
and subwoofers for the car. I put a PF15TL+ in
my truck once just to try it out in my garage and it
was incredible as I new it would be!

My system consists of BP2006TLs,
a C/L/R 2002, and BP2Xs.
I auditioned several systems and had narrowed
my choices down to Definitive and one other.
When you take all the specs into consideration,
everything being equal - your audible perception
is the final deciding factor. This system is
amazing, the 8" subs pack plenty of punch
for home theater, and the mids and tweets are
fluid. After the recommended break-in period,
the whole loudspeaker seemed to work more in
union and produced a smoother and more diffuse
soundstage that was very addicting. The only
thing that would make this system better would
be a little lower bass. That's why I am trading
my beloved BP2006TLs for the BP2004TLs in
the near future. Sometimes you CAN have your
cake and eat it too! Thanks Definitive for
producing a great product and easing my mind
on the whole dipole vs. bipole speaker debate
for surrounds. The system really works well
together.

in my setup. They are not required with these speakers. The internal crossovers

For a while now, I've been considering
upgrading my Definitive DR7 studio towers. Every time
I do, however, I always come back to
the amazing soundstage that these 8-year old speakers
produce. Keiko Matsui has never sounded so good! I

I've had a home theater system with bipolar surrounds
and a 14" dual
drive subwoofer for about 14 months. From the moment
I listened to a set of C/L/R 2000,
bipolar surrounds and 18" sub, my satisfaction
for my choice and investment was ruined. So, I bought
a pair of Definitive ProTower 400s, a ProCenter
C2 and a pair of bipolar surrounds. The
scene of sound is altogether different after using
this combination of speakers in the same theatre.
First of all, the reflections of sound, which were
quite familiar, have totally vanished. Moreover,

This is my third day with my Definitive Technology loudspeakers (BP2002TLs,

shatter. Worried, I ran back into the den and looked around. There was nothing
except a movie on. Definitive Technology strikes again!
I've saved four years for these speakers,
and I have to say I listened to all kinds of home theater speakers
from electrostatics to magneplanars and NOTHING approaches the holographic
sound of Definitive's. Dialogue, bass, surround effects — it
doesn't matter — everything comes alive just a bit more
with Definitive Technology than with any other speaker; some costing
a lot more. I didn't want to like these. I thought they were over-hyped.
Happily, I was wrong. They are magnificent and I have no buyer's
remorse.
May I also say that the C/L/R 2500 is
the single best center speaker available today. The built-in sub
makes such a difference, and every bit of dialogue from whispers
to shouts sound natural, deep-voiced men are notably well reproduced.
This powerful speaker, when matched with the Bipolar Towers, is simply
sublime. The BPXs are similarly wonderful. Definitive recommended
I run these as large and WOW! Bass in the surround channel is eye-opening.
If the BP2002TLs seem expensive, keep
in mind you're getting double the drivers and a built-in powered
subwoofer for what is a very fair price. The build quality is outstanding.
While they are slim and elegant they are also deceptively well-built.
Materials are first-class and Definitive Technology technical support
is outstanding. My emails were answered within hours (sometimes minutes)
of writing.
Thank you for a wonderful speaker that
lets my DVD collection come alive in my home theater like no other
speaker I have ever auditioned, and I auditioned over 50!

What a blast! I can't help but smile when I fire up a great CD or DVD. I have
natural sounding music throughout the audible range and absolutely magnificent
imaging. If you pass along such advice to customers or dealers I suggest running
CAT 5e 10/100 Ethernet cable for the speaker wire. My 2 friends and I noticed
an incredible improvement in the sound over the much more expensive Kimber
cable I used to run. It's pure, designed to carry a more sensitive digital
signal, and very inexpensive. Use one run (all 4 twisted pairs) for + and one
more for -. Cap it off with some crimp-on banana plugs and you're good to go!
I really noticed a difference in the output of the speakers in the high end.
I'd never have believed it if I hadn't heard it myself. Anyhow, keep up the
good work.

I just purchased a pair of BP2006TLs and
a C/L/R 2300 center
channel. After listening to many speakers, including
models from B&W and
Klipsch, I decided that the Definitive speakers have
the most punch and the cleanest sound. Adding an onboard
amplifier is a great idea. It frees the receiver from
having to power it and allows all the power to go to
the mids and tweets. I have never heard this kind of
clarity from speakers in this price range, and as for
bass, boy, WATCH OUT! These babies are real killers.
I really enjoy watching movies with 5.1 encoded sound.
The Definitives reproduce this sound the way the director
intended it. Right now, I only have the front three
speakers, and they blow away systems consisting of
all six. As soon as I can afford it, I am going to
purchase a pair of BP2002TLs for my front speakers,
move the BP2006TLs to the back, and supplement the
bottom octave with a PF15+. I can't think of any system
even remotely close in price giving this DREAM system
of mine ANY competition! Thank You Definitive! You

I have owned Definitive Technology speakers ever since they came out. My original
configuration consisted of the BP20s L/R
main, C/L/R 1000 center, BP2s for

Recently I have upgraded my system with a Parasound Amp (2205), Parasound AVC-
2500, and my rears to the BP10s.

After completion of my home theater room in my basement
and outfitting it with names like Toshiba, Denon
and Onkyo, the final touch would be the "perfect
speakers." After many days surfing the net for

for me. My problem was that the closest dealer was
over 4 hours away. So I did what any audio nut would
do: I ordered speakers that I've never heard of from
a store I've never been to from a guy I've never

over thirty years, and now with the
inception of home theater, and given
the chance to "finally
do it right," I
was presented the opportunity to replace
every piece of my entire stereo system.
Aside from the receiver, the most critical
components are, of course, the speakers.
When I set out on my venture to find
what was the best (within certain criteria)
for me, I put aside brand names, cost,
etc. All I was concerned with was the
sound. After all, that's what it is
all about, isn't it? I listened to
anything and everything with no prejudice.
I wanted to hear everything that I
feasibly could. It didn't take long
to narrow the field down. With only
two or three brands in the final running,
it didn't take long then either to
decide. Like I said, it's in the sound
— and there was one that I found clearly
superior over all the rest (trust me,
there were some very high-end, high-priced
heavy weights in there). Needless to
say, the Definitives were phenomenal,
regardless of price (even though I
firmly believe they blew away many
high-priced alternatives). Audio and
THX DD DVD has never, ever sounded
better. I'll swear I've one of the
best sounding theaters in the Denver
area — bar none! I love my Definitives
— the BP10s, the C/L/R
1000 and the PF15TL (and
soon DTs for the surrounds) are absolutely
incredible. The bipolar sound is "indescribably
delicious." Thanks DefTech. You
are to be commended with the utmost
praise.

I love my Definitives! I've got BP8Bs for
mains, a ProCenter C2 for
center channel duties and BP1Xs pulling
up the rear. A ProSub 100 handles
the low end. WOW! I am so pleased with how well this system articulates movies

100, but that's simply a want ... this system ROCKS
as it is!

I have had many different speaker systems in the
30 plus years I have been a HI-FI enthusiast. I have enjoyed none more
than my DTs. I purchased a set of the BP
2000s, a C/L/R
2000, and a pair of BPXs.
I have them hooked to a Yamaha DSP A3090 Dolby Digital amp. This amp
has split line level outputs to hook up two subwoofers. When I play
a DVD on my Pioneer DVL-90 player, I get the best bass I have ever
had at home. The full-range sound is as close to being at a state-of-the-art
theater as you can get at home. They are also super for playing all
types of music too. The only speakers I will ever have from now on
will be Definitive Technology.

I am a musician, drummer, and I still can't get used to the realistic

When the 5.1 mode is active for our DVD movies, the wife then understands
the investment and the importance of top shelf equipment. My list of
music is as versatile as your speakers. The only flaw is that the neighbors
get to feel my joy. I guess ny next Definitive investment will be our
house (detached). Then the gloves come off! Thanks for the sounds and
the designs.

channel. It's almost insane the way they sound from music to movies, one thing
I can say is my neighbors are going to hate me! THE BEST SPEAKERS ARE DEFINITIVES!!

I have a pair of your Celsius DRs and your new C/L/R
2500 center and BP1Xs in
the rear. I just want to say that this system smokes all others that
I've heard. Nobody can come close to matching the performance of your
speakers. Listening to DTS and Dolby Digital on this system is simply
amazing, and is a sound to be heard. I plan to add BP2004s to
the front, for even better sound.
I knew NOTHING about the Definitive product when I went to the "last" dealer
on my research list. I was gravitating towards Bose 901s. I had heard about
Klipsch and listened to a myriad of others including B&W. I introduced
myself to a sales rep (whom I had never met). I explained my listening
preferences and what products I had listened to. He brought me upstairs,
and the rest is history. The initial purchase was the BP2004 towers.
One week later I bought the BPX rears.
Today (12/01/99) the C/L/R 3000.
Personally, I have never been so taken with any
audio equipment. The Definitive product line is incomparable. From
my 74- year-old-father to my teenage sons: "simply
remarkable." Even my wife admits to being staggered! (That is
the ultimate endorsement!)

When it comes to HT there is nothing that matches the performance of Definitive
Technology speakers.
I recently purchased a pair of Definitive Technology BP3000TLs and
the matching C/L/R 3000.
I auditioned them 3 times with a Denon AVR-5700 before purchasing. Never in
my life have I experienced such pulse-pounding sound. These bad boys are so
overpowering they are damn near immune to room placement effects, present a
huge sound stage, and the 18" subs shake the mortar out of the bricks
in the house. I wasn't convinced that the sub in the C/L/R would make much
of a difference until I ran The Hunt for Red October. James Earl Jones
on the C/L/R was downright amazing. I quickly switched to my Star Wars laser
disc to get more!

Recently, I purchased a pair of BP30s for
my front speakers, a C/L/R 2002 for
my center channel speaker, a pair of BPXs for
my rear surrounds, and a PF18 subwoofer.
This is by far the most awesome sounding system I have ever heard. It actually
shakes my den floor!
I listen to a lot of pipe
organ CDs and I can tell you that the sound is life like.
Sitting on my den sofa I can feel the sofa shake on the
low sounds of the pipe organ. I also watch movies on
my home theater components. Movies just come alive! Definitive,
I can honestly say, makes the best speakers I ever heard.

I have enjoyed my BP2000TLs for quite a while, so I recently upgraded
my center channel speaker to a CLR 2500. I really love the
way it sounds, especially when listening to the new Cream at Royal Albert
Hall Reunion DVD. Holy Cow!
What a difference the built-in subwoofer makes when listening to Jack
Bruce's bass mixed to the
center channel. Every Definitive owner with large bipolar towers owes it to
themselves to buy the CLR 2500 center speaker. If you don't have a center
channel speaker with a built-in powered subwoofer, buy one and enjoy! I am
NEVER going back! Thank you!
