“The price was more than just alright, it was great.”

Last year for Christmas I received a 6.1 receiver with an Energy Take 5.2 speaker package. Watching movies it faired OK, but as far as listening to music it was sub-par. I needed to do something about the front speakers to get clarity in music. I started with your typical Best Buy, Circuit City, etc., to find speakers. All of the speakers in my price range sounded better than mine, but by far not mind blowing in their clarity.

I went to a local high-end home theater store not thinking anything would fit my price range, but to my surprise I found the Definitive Technology BP6B Bipolar Towers. I couldn't believe how clear they were, and the price was more than just alright, it was great. They blew away the Infinity, Polk, etc., that I had been looking at.

Once I set them up at home they really shined. I have since added a C/L/R 2002 center channel and I am looking to upgrade my subwoofer and rear surround speakers. I will no doubt buy Definitive Technology. I am a customer for life.

"Your bi-polar towers and surrounds are the best thing to ever happen to my hearing."

Your bi-polar towers and surrounds are the best thing to ever happen to my hearing. I have moderate hearing loss especially the lower frequencies. I needed to find speakers that did a good job separating the highs mid-range and lows with good dynamic range at both ends. With most speakers I found my self looking at watts only. Translation: [I thought] more power and more money meant a broader range of sounds for me so I listened to a great many speakers most of which were very high priced. [They were] loud, yes, but good sound quality, no. Then a local dealer introduced me to your bi-polar towers and surrounds. Wow what a difference; I suddenly found myself hearing lower bass without sacrificing the higher treble sounds. But I still needed more so the salesman recommended a SuperCube sub-woofer. What a great complement to my system. Again, high power low bass but very clean. Finally I can fully enjoy my music again and I did not have to take out a second mortgage. Thanks Definitive Technology!

“Awesome sound, well-built, very attractive cabinets, and an excellent price. What more could you want?”

I finally got my new CLR 2002 and BP2Xs, and I absolutely love them. I heard things last night while watching OPEN RANGE that I wasn't able to hear with the old Bose system, especially in the surrounds.

These three speakers sounded awesome in the store, but when I got them home and added them to my BP6s and two ProSub 80s, my wife had to pick my jaw up off of the floor. I couldn't believe it! All the loudspeakers in my system have the same size drivers and the Denon AVR-1804 just makes 'em purr.

I never thought I would have a home theater that sounds this good, not at the price. Friends and family have heard it over the last couple of weeks and think I've spent a fortune. Awesome sound, well-built, very attractive cabinets, and an excellent price. What more could you want?

I'm very proud to have a complete Definitive Technology speaker system. I wouldn't have any other brand. Thank you and keep up the good work. I'll upgrade again in a couple of years when I move. Hmmmmm... BP7001SC....

“I still listen with awe.”

About 25 years ago I purchased a pair of bookshelf speakers to go with my low-powered receiver and always wanted to upgrade but never could justify the expense.

About 4 years ago I was checking out some items going up for sale at an auction and found a pair of Definitive BP10s. I was mainly looking for goodies to resell so I did my homework and ended up snatching them up for $100. The following day I listed them for sale and had a potential buyer come to give them a listen. Since I hadn't hooked them up to my stereo yet I hurried to do that but worried they wouldn't sound good since my receiver had so little power. Well, the buyer popped in his music and we cranked it up a bit and it sounded pretty good. He said he wanted to listen to one other pair before deciding and would let me know the following day. Well, after he left, I popped in some of MY music and compared them directly with my old speakers. WOW. What a difference! I couldn't believe these had so much bass! I had always wanted to at least add a sub to my system but now I didn't need to! My low-powered receiver was PLENTY enough for these, and the volume levels were far more than my living room could handle.

The poor guy called the next day, telling me he had decided to buy mine, but sorry, they were no longer for sale! He was a bit mad at me, but you snooze you lose!

I don't listen to them as often as I would like, but when I do I still listen with awe, unable to understand how so much sound can come from such small speakers (two 6.5" drivers in each). I used to think to get that kind of sound one needed a whole lot of watts and big 10 or 12" drivers.

A few weeks ago I had to travel to San Diego to deal with the fire, and stayed in a friend's home who had a gorgeous pair of B&W speakers; the kind with the tweeters on that microphone-looking thing on top. They also had the same size drivers as mine, so I expected they would sound pretty good too. Well, I'll admit they had excellent midrange and highs, but the bass was virtually non-existent, even when cranked up loud. He REALLY needed a sub to complete his system, and he had super-expensive state-of-the-art components, not like my cheap, old equipment. If for any reason in the future I need to buy home speakers, I won't even shop for anything other than Definitive. I'm sold for life.

"It sounded so awesome even my wife noticed the difference."

I was a long time fan of Klipsch. Recently I upgraded my entry level Klipsch to a set of RB-5IIs, RC-3 II and RS-3II. Now this is a great system, but it is very bright and sometimes hard to listen to. Shortly after getting these, I went back to the store I bought them at and was looking for something else.

The first thing the salesman asked me was if I had ever heard the Definitive Technology loudspeakers. I said I had heard of them, but never heard them. With a big smile on his face he loaded some DVDs and music CDs.

Well, after about 2 minutes I had a huge smile on my face also. I ended up with a pair of BP8s, a C/L/R 2002 and BP1.2X surrounds. I brought it all home, hooked it up, and it sounded so awesome even my wife noticed the difference.

The sound is so natural and neutral. The center is one of the best ones I have ever heard. The sweet spot has extended to both sides of my 53" TV. I'm still with my 30 day return and will probably upgrade my BP8s for some BP2006TLs.

Thanks Definitive, for all the homework you guys did on developing the BP series. I'm a fan for life.

"My system sounds incredible!"

I just wanted to tell the folks at Definitive Technology how impressed I am with your products. I purchased a pair of BP20s back in '95 and they sound as great as ever. I recently completed my system by adding a C/L/R 2300, a pair of BPVX/Ps and SuperCube I subwoofer. My system sounds incredible! The SuperCube I actually sounds good with movies and music and the bass is incredibly tight — the way it should be. Thank you for building such outstanding products.

“People were yelling like they were at a dance club! I will never get rid of these champions.”

On June 8th of this year I had a small gathering of friends and family for some food, drink and good times. This was the first time I would put these speakers to what I considered "a good test" (considering I live in an apartment and can't blast my stuff).

In the complex clubhouse (I would say about 25 ft x 50 ft), I proceeded to set up my laptop and get it connected to my receiver. I should mention that this would be my subwoofer's (powered 12" – 250 watt) and Harman-Kardon's (receiver) first real test, too. I was enthused at the opportunity to use these components in an environment that would satisfy me, after the conversion of my many dollars into plastic dials and foam surrounds, to see if these guys could live up to my hopes.

Well, it didn't take long to find out that the speakers sounded better than I ever hoped. With my sub rattling 15 ft glass windows, (and waking up people), the DT speakers handled the Harman's true delivery of 100 watts per channel with ease, almost begging for more. I noticed ZERO audible distortion throughout the night and the speakers just kept throwing out the tunes continuously for longer than 6 hours! Trust me, an indoor voice was useless. People were yelling like they were at a dance club! I was thoroughly impressed (everyone there knew I was proud of my speakers), and will never get rid of these champions.

It was well worth the money (only $600 for the pair when I got them), and you truly make speakers that separate themselves... great work DT! Let me also say that my receiver still had a good 20 clicks to full power and I believe I could have given the DT's close to 10 of them... and they would have been happy to oblige.

"I honestly thought the KEFs were playing when I walked in but it was the DefTech 2000TLs; they completely blew away the Infinitys, and had way more bottom and presence than the KEFs."

It's round 3 and I'm still smiling. I recently added a second sub and upgraded my rear speakers and center channel. When the dust settled, I now have 2 BP30s matched with 2 ProSub 200s for the mains, a C/L/R 3000, 2 UIW BPZ/As in my angled ceiling for side surrounds, and 2 ProMonitor 200s for the rear. WOW! I've had trouble getting company to leave from our great room to show them the local sites.

I was also buying a Monster Power rack mount surge protector/power conditioner to protect all this stuff and happened to wander into one of the high-end listening rooms while a neighbor was getting a speaker demo. They had $4000 each Infinity towers next to $1500 each DefTech 2000TLs and $8000 each KEF towers. I expected it to be close with the 2-1/2-times-the-price Infinitys losing to the 5-times-the-price KEFs. I honestly thought the KEFs were playing when I walked in but it was the DefTech 2000TLs, they completely blew away the Infinitys, and had way more bottom and presence than the KEFs...

A friendly word of advise to fellow DefTech owners: a good surge protector/power conditioner really will slightly improve sound and video while protecting your investment, and a high end DVD player can make a huge difference. I went from a $400 Sony progressive to a $1200 Denon 3800 and have a Mitsubishi Diamond 55" HDTV. DVDs now have a high definition picture, my wife even noticed, and the DefTechs sound even better through the upgraded electronics. I'm gonna need a bigger house...

"It sounds a hundred times better than in a theater."

With little space in my apartment, I chose the BP10 for the main channels and was surprised when I got home and listened to them. They sounded better than they did at the dealer. I liked them so much I got two more for the rear channels!

This was 5 years ago, and still to this day people come to my house to watch movies because they tell me it "sounds a hundred times better than in a theater."

I owe the same compliment to Definitive. After these years of being a proud owner I will never go with another.

"The speakers have performed brilliantly and continue to please me."

5 years ago I purchased my Definitive Technology speakers. They are still going strong. They still make my friends' jaws drop every time they listen.

My system includes the BP30s with a C/L/R 2000 center and BPX surrounds. From the thunderous explosions of a great action movie to the intricate and delicate sounds of a great classical piece, the speakers have performed brilliantly and continue to please me. The imaging is absolutely superb with well-recorded music pieces.

I'd never look at buying another speaker, only perhaps upgrading my Definitive Techs.

"These speakers will not let you down. They just get better and better."

I purchased my BP8Bs in 1999. I originally had them matched to my old Sony receiver with plain "lampcord" style speaker cables, regular interconnects, etc. The BP8s sounded great at that point. The past year I've upgraded my system to an Acurus A250 amplifier, Adcom pre-amp, straightwire interconnects, and monster ZR-1 reference cables (they're about 1/2-inch thick). Every upgrade to my system has been reflected by the BP8Bs. They've allowed all the detail and power of the music being played through my system to shine through. These speakers sound wonderful with regular consumer electronics. But if you have a hankering to move up into separates, quality amplification, interconnects, etc., these speakers will not let you down. They just get better and better. I couldn't be happier with my purchase. Thanks!

"Not a day goes by when I don't sit and grin over the incredible sound of your system."

Just dropped by your site looking for info on my upcoming purchase.

I already own 4 BP10s, a C/L/R 1000 and a PF15 sub. Not a day goes by when I don't sit and grin over the incredible sound of your system. I purchased it over eight years ago and nothing compares. I am currently "system-less" while I move into a new house, but am using the time to upgrade amps and add more speakers. There is NO debate. I am adding on using only your speakers. Period. I lived on a tropical island for a year with only a cheap boom-box. Your system was my gift to myself for living in such primitive conditions. You deserve a huge pat on the back for making my homecoming so rewarding. I mean it!

"For a small investment... the sound quality has doubled."

I have been extremely satisfied with my Definitive speakers over the last three months. I own the BP30s, C/L/R 1000, ProSub 200TL, ProMonitor 200s. I've received rave reviews from my guests. Being new to high-end home theater, I've been playing with modes and configurations, and having a large room with a raised hip ceiling over the seating area, I began wondering about a 6.1 setup.

At the salesman's recommendation to go with bipolar speakers for the surrounds, I bought a pair of UIW BPZ/As for my angled ceiling and turned the ProMonitor 200s into rear speakers. What an incredible difference! Now the bullets from SAVING PRIVATE RYAN don't go by you, they go through you! For a small investment against the total cost of the home theater, the sound quality has doubled. Friends who have heard the before and after agree, and are turning their 5.1 systems into 6.1.

To anyone who has a high-end 5.1 system, go 6.1: it puts you inside the movies you watch. Definitive's bipolar ceiling speakers mimic the towers, but are unobtrusive enough to keep you out of divorce court. I can't believe ceiling/wall speakers sound this good. Let's see, my Denon 3802 can do 7.1, hmmmmmmmmmm....

"The Definitive just blew away the others. They absolutely positively ROCKED."

Well, to make a long and old story short and new... Needing major back surgery, I was out looking for a new home theater system, knowing I was going to be laid up for months. The local stereo shop was folding up. I went in to buy a Sony ES A/V receiver and while there listened to some speaker combos. They had a great set-up where you could compare speakers, then switch off to any pair with the same power input in the same room. I listened to every pair and was disappointed.

The salesman then led me into Room B: same basic set-up as the other sound room but with high-end equipment. I started at the bottom and worked my way up to the tower speakers. The Definitive just blew away the others. They absolutely positively ROCKED the other speakers! I then went from the BP6s to the 8s to the 10s and compared them. The other speakers lost my interest as soon as the Definitives were lit up.

I ended up bartering for the BP8s, seeing as my wife was limiting my budget somewhat. This was in 1990-91. It's been 11 or 12 years now and I still have my BP8s. They still sound the same. So, not only do they sound great, they hold up over the years as well. I am adding Definitive rears and a sub. We finally can afford them. They will be the ProMonitor 200s and the PF15TL+ sub. I am giving my oldest son the old rears and old sub to start his system.

Over the last 11-12 years I've had four major surgeries and spent a lot of time listening to movies and music. I don't even test other brands. Why waste my time? This company has kicked butt since inception, somehow I knew that 12 years ago. They were the new bully on the block, one that I could afford to take on. Thanks.

"The value, the looks, the sound!"

I would just like to make this short and sweet. Five or six years ago I bought a pair of the BP30s, a PF1500 subwoofer, a C/L/R 2000 center and BP rears. I still would not trade these speakers for anything out there today! The value, the looks, the sound! I still tell my family and friends about these wonderful speakers. These loudspeakers are part of my family, they will be with me for years to come! Sorry Definitive, I won't be buying loudspeakers for years. I know the quality I have! Thank you.

"I will never buy another brand of speaker!"

I have had a pair of Definitive BP20s in oak for about five years now, and it matched my Hitachi 52" TV perfectly. Not only have I been 150% satisfied with the sound and quality of the speaker, but have received nothing but praise and compliments from those who hear my system. Definitive, keep up the good work, because I will never buy another brand of speaker!

"Dollar for dollar, Definitive is the best possible choice."

I work in a stereo store that carries Definitive Technology and other great speakers. I am finally ready to buy a home theater system. I have heard of many brands and Definitive is the best choice for all of my customers and for me. My future system will consist of two BP30s, two BPXs, a Powerfield 15TL+ , a C/L/R 3000, and a BPVX/P being a future upgrade for 7.1.

The Definitive sound is very natural compared to other brands. You don't have to worry about over exaggerated bass/midrange and you will never have to listen to that annoying horn tweeter (no brand name mentioned) screaming at you for the whole movie.

Overall, dollar for dollar, Definitive is the best possible choice that allows you to sit back and enjoy.

"I love the honest true sound."

Five years ago I purchased a pair of BP8s. I was so impressed with the sound that a couple of years ago I purchased a pair of BP10Bs along with the C/L/R 2300. I now use the 8s for the upstairs music system and the 10s in the theater. I love the honest true sound that I am treated to each time I listen. I am very pleased with my decision to own your speakers and when I upgrade my surrounds, I know yours will be at the top of the list.

"I was worried my wife would divorce me when she saw the 'wall of sound' in our new home, but she loved it!"

As a lifetime musician (on the side), I am very particular when it comes to electronics. When my corporate relocation took me to Dallas, a home with a "great room" for home theater (a lifetime dream) was now a possibility. I have coworkers with dedicated rooms and $25,000 home theaters, and my relatively modest $10,000 system blows them away, and the DefTechs are the heart and soul.

A local high-end home theater store had a DefTech package, BP30s, C/L/R 1000, ProSub 200 and ProMonitor 200s. Matched with Denon power and components, a top of the line Mitsubishi Diamond Series 55" rear projection TV, and a Hughes HD Satellite System. The experience is totally immersive and incredible. I was worried my wife would divorce me when she saw the "wall of sound" in our new home, but she loved it! Back home in NJ, we went to Broadway musicals as much as possible and the CDs from these shows sound "live"; the bipolars fill our great room with presence and that "being there" feeling. The opening of SAVING PRIVATE RYAN is amazing; you can feel the bullets passing by you from the BP30s back to the surround monitors, and the ProSub makes the explosions frightening. And music is... beautiful!

One neighbor has a dedicated room, acoustical architecture, Martin Logans, Runco front projection TV, and ParaSound electronics; all-told nudging $50,000. I can't say the DefTechs are better, but I prefer their warmer, less "digital" sound; and my speakers cost $18,000 less! You certainly can't hear an $18,000 difference! In fact, this person was the one who originally recommended DefTechs to me, stating that dollar for dollar he considered them the best speakers on the market.

My wife didn't divorce me. She loves playing music. We've added ceiling speakers throughout the house, and enjoy having company over "for a movie." In my opinion, spending thousands more takes you past the point of diminishing returns. DefTechs are high-end speakers that can hold their own with very high-end speakers, without the five figure price tag. Love 'em.

"Being able to run all the speakers as 'large' on my receiver really opened up the sound stage."

I recently bought a new Definitive Technology system consisting of BP30s for fronts, C/L/R 2500, BP2006TL as sides, and two BPXs for rear center. I upgraded from an older Atlantic Technology System 350. What a difference. The Definitives were so much clearer and fuller sounding. Being able to run all the speakers as large on my receiver really opened up the sound stage. DVD audio sounds great. Anyways, great product and keep up the good work!

"Thanks for making a high-end speaker without the high-end price."

Ever since I purchased my first Hi-Fi when I was 12 years old, I have had a passion for high-end audio. Over the last thirty years, I frequently visited many of the high-end audio stores where products such as Wilson, Krell, and Mark Levison speakers were on display for my listening pleasure and coveting. I would always leave and go home to my "poor man's system" and immediately put in a movie and find some reason to feel good about my system, knowing I would never be able to afford the sound of the high-end products. However, thanks to Definitive, I now enjoy the sound reproduction of high-end speakers without the high-end price.

I was fortunate to pick up a pair of BP30s, a C/L/R 2000, and a pair of BP2Xs to complement my already purchased PF15TL subwoofer. I still go to visit the high-end stores because of my love and passion for high-end audio; however, I no longer have to go home and listen to my system to feel good about my purchase. The quality and sound reproduction of my BP30s is unequaled in a speaker costing three or four times as much. I love my purchase and would recommend them to anyone who considers himself an audiophile. Thanks Definitive for making a high-end speaker without the high-end price so that us poor folks can enjoy good movies and music in our homes.

"I'm driving my wife crazy!"

While listening to Definitive Technology BP6 speakers at my local Home Theater Store, I asked the salesman if I could hear them without the sub. He said, "That is without the sub." That's when I knew there was something special about Definitive Technology. The BP6s are Definitive's smallest floor standing speakers after all.

I shopped at a lot of stores, but nobody had the kind of sound that Definitive Technology could produce at such a reasonable price. I bought a pair of BP6s and a ProCenter2, and my home theater came to life like never before. I'm driving my wife crazy with all the ooohs and aaahhs, and the "did you hear that?" every time I hear something from my CDs or DVDs that I had been missing with my old setup. My wife admits even she's impressed.

These speakers sound great at low or high volumes. (I can't wait to move into a house again.) Whether I'm watching movies or listening to stereo music, I'm very happy with my purchase, and I'm looking forward to upgrading my surround speakers and subwoofer with Definitive Technology products.
